About The Role

Role responsibilities:

To support the buying function in the execution of sourcing and selection of a given category of products for the Clintons’ customers, which delivers against the departments plan.

To work proactively with all internal departments to deliver excellent service and a right first time approach to the stores.

Role responsibilities:

  • To support the buying function through Supplier set up, new line set up and management of pricing, markdowns, funding, retros and exit strategy
  • Creation of spread sheets and analysis of data/ working with relevant databases to ensure delivery of department objectives
  • Supporting the Senior Buyer/Buyer to deliver or exceed budgeted category sales, profit, margin and year end stock number
  • To manage the product range/new product ranges in line with the critical paths through Merchandising, allocations, visual merchandising, space planning, store operations and Marketing
  • To be responsible for allocated categories and management of their performance
  • To support the buyer with product choice, introduction of new lines and product development
  • To manage supplier relationships on categories which you are responsible for
  • Supporting the Senior Buyer/Buyer in the delivery of Supplier KPI’s as well as Supplier management
  • To work with the team on delivering the strategy for the department
  • Undertake any other duties as requested by the Senior Buyer/Buyer
  • Development of self through development and delivery of own PDP
  • To undertake other / ad hoc duties commensurate with the role, as required.




Role Parameters


Working Arrangements:                     Based at ClintonsHead Office

                                                       Occasional ad-hoc travel may be required

Key Stakeholders:           



  • Buyer - Providing updates where required.
  • Marketing- Implementation of events, POS and communication.
  • Merchandising- Stock planning, order quantities, analysis, replenishment systems, space planning (macro and micro), visual planning. Reporting and measurement.
  • Stores/Operations- Planning and implementation, daily and weekly communications,store visits and store support.
  • Finance- Supplier set up and management
  • IT- Systems developments


  • Suppliers-Account Managers, supplier key contacts
